Chinese leasing company CDB Aviation orders 50 Boeing 737-8 MAX

On September 19, 2024, the CBD Aviation, a Chinese aircraft leasing company, has revealed that its Irish subsidiary, CDB Aviation Lease Finance, is placing an order for 50 aircraft Boeing 737-8 MAX. The company confirmed in a notification to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it expects to receive the planes between 2028 and 2031.

This agreement, the largest request of Boeing China's 737 MAX in nearly 10 years was shut down a week after CBD Aviation announce an order for 80 Airbus A320neo, scheduled for delivery from 2030 to 2032.

Prior to this request, the CBD Aviation already had 34 Boeing 737 MAX active and had committed to another 36 aircraft of this model by September 2024.

According to information from ch-aviation, there are currently 138 aircraft in the series Boeing 737 MAX ordered by Chinese carriers and not yet delivered, excluding the new order from CBD Aviation.
