Congonhas Airport has inaugurated its fleet of electric buses. The vehicles will enter circulation this Wednesday (19), intended for the transportation of travelers for remote boarding and disembarking. The acquisition of electric buses is another important step in Aena's sustainability project. With zero carbon emissions and zero noise, the vehicles are expected to reduce the release of approximately 464 tons of CO2 equivalent per year into the atmosphere, which represents 25% of all Aena's mobile combustion emissions in Brazil. The measure also reflects Aena's commitment to the environmental quality of the city of São Paulo.

The electric buses that will now operate at Congonhas Airport were adapted exclusively for Aena, in partnership with TEVX Higer. The vehicles operated in a test phase at Congonhas in November 2023 and are now entering the fleet permanently.

In of autonomy, the new electric buses travel, on average, 300 kilometers on a single charge and are fully recharged in up to 3 hours, in addition to having technology to regenerate up to 30% of the battery during use.
