Domestic trips are a priority for 81% of Brazilian tourists

Domestic tourism in Brazil promises to be the trend in the resumption of tourist activities with the advancement of vaccination across the country.

A survey carried out by the online travel platform Booking.com pointed out that 81% of Brazilian tourists see domestic travel as a priority and 65% plan to travel in 2021.

The decrease in the frequency of trips in the routine of Brazilians during the Covid-19 pandemic, including, led to an increase in the desire to plan the next vacation.

According to the survey, 65% of respondents took advantage of the longer time at home to schedule a new trip and most intend to visit family (76%) or meet friends again (75%).

According to the survey, the Brazilian coast is the most desired destination for 6 out of 10 (62%) travelers from the country who intend to travel this year. Additionally, 33% of respondents plan to visit destinations further from home once restrictions are lifted, and two in five (44%) have saved vacation days to enjoy longer trips once they are able to travel again.

“This is the best scenario for tourism in our country. Tourists are thirsty for the beach, mountains and everything Brazil has to offer. Therefore, we work every day to qualify tourism professionals, to promote safe and responsible tourism and to improve the tourist infrastructure of our destinations, in order to deliver the best to tourists during the resumption ", highlighted the Minister of Tourism, Gilson Machado Neto.
