Drunk flight attendant delays four ANA flights

An All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight attendant was caught with blood alcohol above the limit before taking over an ANA flight.

The flight attendant, who is in her mid-20s, had had a bit too much to drink the night before. She had to report at 06:30 am at Fukuoka Airport, and an airport staff immediately asked her to take a “breathalyzer test”.

The machine analyzed her breath and found that she had 0,14 milligrams of alcohol in her system. ANA has a policy that cabin crew, pilots and other personnel must have 0,00 milligrams of alcohol when checked.

The flight attendant's case caused the company to delay a sequence of four flights, as a reserve crew had to be called by the company, and was not available at the airport at that time.

The flight attendant was resentful of her mistake and “regretted violating airline regulations.”

Apparently, she had been drinking a local drink called Shochu (a type of distilled liquor) the night before with a friend.
