EASA, through the revised CZIB, recommends that air operators carry out rigorous risk assessments and continuous monitoring when flying in Israeli airspace. The guidance is valid until October 31, 2024, and may be adjusted or withdrawn before that deadline, depending on further assessment.

“EASA will continue to closely monitor the situation with a view to assessing whether there is an increase or decrease in risks to EU aircraft operators as a result of the evolving threat.” The agency stated in an official statement.

The updated bulletin states that the risk assessment and mitigation measures must ensure that the flight will only be carried out if it is verified that the airspace is safe for the operation.

Air operators are also instructed to closely monitor the airspace situation in the region, following all aeronautical publications issued by Israel, as well as information from the European Information Sharing Platform and guidance from their national authorities.
