Economic sanctions prevent Boa Vista from having international flights

In recent days, we have reported here on the Aeroflap Portal about the Venezuelan company's plans Rutaca Airlines to carry out a charter flight to Boa Vista Airport (BVB), in Roraima, with the desire to launch a regular flight between Puerto Ordaz, a city located in the state of Bolívar, Venezuela, and Boa Vista.

The operation in question is an old desire of the business community in both regions, who claim that they have been trying for more than 5 years to make the flight viable, which would be officially announced at the International Tourism Exhibition, which will take place between the 26th and 28th of April at Roraima Garden Mall. The regular flight between the two cities would be an opportunity to expand business, with Boa Vista having more than 50 settled Venezuelans.

Sources close to the matter said that despite the announcement of Rutaca's charter flight scheduled to take place on the 24th, both Petrobras and Shell announced that they would not fuel the plane as a result of United States economic sanctions against Venezuela, as Rutaca is a private Venezuelan airline, the same also happened with dnata, the only ground handling operator at Boa Vista Airport.

In principle, the fact that the aircraft was not refueled in Boa Vista would not be a problem, as the plane would come with enough fuel to go and return to Boa Vista airport, however, the main ime would be for ground services.

Interestingly, Rutaca recently carried out other charter flights in Brazil, however, operations were not affected in ground services, carried out by other ground handling companies.

Operated by Vinci Airports, we tried to Boa Vista Airport for more information about the possible flight, but we did not receive a response at the time of posting this article.
