The Egyptian Armed Forces announced today during the Egypt International Air Show that the Lockheed Martin Egypt’s Air Force will deliver two C-130J-30 Super Hercules tactical airlifters to the Egyptian Air Force (EAF) through a Foreign Military Sale (FMS) with the U.S. The Egyptian Air Force is the 23rd nation to the global Super Hercules operational community.
Egypt operates one of the largest C-130H fleets in the world, which has a significant presence in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, ing military, peacekeeping, humanitarian and natural disaster response mission requirements.
The Super Hercules can be used for both cargo and tactical troop transport missions. To date, Lockheed Martin has delivered more than 545 C-130Js, and the global Super Hercules fleet has exceeded 3 million flight hours.
The Super Hercules is known for proven operational readiness with improved ease of transition, improved reliability, superior tactical airlift and combat airdrop capability, certified by more than 20 airworthiness authorities, and enhanced survivability. The C-130J also offers interoperability with NATO and partner nations.
