Tucano crashes Brazilian Air Force T-27 Embraer

An Embraer Tucano T-27 training aircraft of the Brazilian Air Force crashed on Friday afternoon (1st), in an uninhabited area in Pirassununga (SP).

According to information from the FAB, the aircraft collided with another plane of the same model. The pilot of the aircraft managed to eject before the crash and was rescued by a FAB rescue team. The aircraft crashed in an uninhabited sugarcane field near São Domingos State.

The pilot of the other aircraft managed to land safely. The two aircraft involved were on a training flight.

“The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reports that, this Friday (01/11), two T-27 Tucano aircraft, used in training cadets at the Air Force Academy (AFA), collided during an instructional flight in Pirassununga (SP). One aircraft landed safely, while the other was directed to an uninhabited region. The pilot successfully performed the ejection procedures from the aircraft and was then rescued by a FAB rescue team.

The Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) will investigate the accident in order to identify possible contributing factors to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.”
