Thanks to its flexibility, robustness, state-of-the-art communication and self-protection systems, the aircraft has great potential to meet or even exceed the needs and expectations not only of the Brazilian Air Force, but also of other customers.

“Studies to adapt the C-390 Millennium platform to IVR missions have evolved in a structured manner, analyzing the aircraft's suitability and flexibility to the current and future needs of the Brazilian Air Force, especially in relation to Maritime Patrol,” points out Air Force Lieutenant Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Commander of the Air Force.

“We are honored to advance with the FAB in studies to expand the operational capabilities of the C-390 Millennium. This agreement reinforces our commitment to always offer our customers an aircraft capable of performing the most challenging missions with unmatched efficiency,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “This is another important step in the long-term relationship we have built with the FAB.”

The possibility of developing new operational functionalities demonstrates Embraer's engineering and systems integration capabilities. The aircraft is already considered by its s to be the most modern in its category and has been chosen by several countries, including Brazil, Hungary, Austria, South Korea, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Portugal and Sweden, to modernize their air forces.

With a maximum payload of 26 tons, a top speed of 470 knots and state-of-the-art avionics, the C-390 Millennium is the best aircraft in its class. Its powerful engines, large cargo compartment equipped with a rear ramp and robust landing gear allow it to perform the most demanding missions on unpaved runways.

The current fleet of aircraft in operation worldwide has accumulated more than 15.000 flight hours, demonstrates a mission readiness rate of 93% and a mission completion rate above 99%, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category.
