Embraer announces firm order for six A-29 Super Tucanos

Embraer announced a firm order from an undisclosed customer for six A-29 Super Tucano light attack and advanced training aircraft. This order will be included in the 4Q24 backlog and deliveries are expected to occur in 2026.

The aircraft will be equipped with enhanced capabilities to perform missions such as air interdiction, tactical air , maritime patrol, maritime strike and other territorial defense operations.

The multi-mission A-29 Super Tucano aircraft offers air forces the versatility to perform missions such as armed reconnaissance, tactical air , light attack and advanced training missions on a single platform, which exponentially increases the aircraft’s availability and operational flexibility. Its robust structure allows the aircraft to operate from unpaved runways in austere environments.

The A-29 Super Tucano is a global leader in its category, with more than 290 units ordered, accumulating more than 570.000 flight hours, 60.000 of which in combat. In 2024, Embraer announced new sales of the Super Tucano to the Portuguese Air Force (A-29N), Uruguayan Air Force and Paraguayan Air Force.
