Embraer will showcase its portfolio of aircraft and defense solutions at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, from December 19 to 22, 2024. The portfolio includes the C-390 Millennium, a multi-mission military transport aircraft, and the A-29 Super Tucano, a light attack, reconnaissance and advanced training aircraft. The participation reflects the strengthening of bilateral relations between Brazil and Vietnam.
During the recent G20 summit in Brazil, Vietnam’s Prime Minister, Phạm Minh Chính, met with representatives from Embraer. The meeting highlighted the opportunity for Embraer to further contribute to Vietnam’s goals in the aerospace sector.
“Embraer is honored to participate in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. We congratulate the Vietnam People’s Army on its 80th anniversary,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “Vietnam is a key market for Embraer and we are committed to contributing to the development of the country’s aerospace and defense sector. We look forward to exploring ways to further collaborate and promote technological advancement.”
The C-390 Millennium can carry more payload (26 tons) than other medium-lift military transport aircraft and flies faster (470 knots) and further. The platform is capable of performing a wide range of missions, such as airborne logistics for government agencies, aerial surveillance, cargo and troop transport and airdrop, aeromedical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions, including operating from unpaved runways, on surfaces such as compacted earth, soil, coral and gravel. The aircraft configured with in-flight refueling equipment, with the designation KC-390, has aerial refueling capabilities as both a tanker and a receiver.
The current fleet of C-390 Millennium aircraft in operation globally has accumulated more than 15 flight hours, with a mission capability rate of 93% and mission completion rates exceeding 99%, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category.
Last month, Sweden selected the Embraer C-390 Millennium as its new tactical transport aircraft. More recently, Slovakia indicated the C-390 as the best option to modernize its military transport fleet. The strategic decisions by more NATO add to the growing number of C-390 Millennium operators around the world. To date, the C-390 has been ordered by South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal and Brazil.
Embraer’s presence at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 reaffirms the company’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships and providing innovative solutions to meet the ever-evolving needs of its customers worldwide.
