Embraer Defense & Security will showcase its portfolio of defense aircraft and solutions at the inaugural Korean Army International Defense Exhibition (KADEX), October 2-6, 2024, in Gyeryongdae, South Korea. Embraer’s portfolio includes defense solutions and special mission aircraft.
Embraer’s C-390 Millennium was selected in December 2023 for the Large Transport Aircraft (LTA) II program to provide the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) with new military transport aircraft. The project is ongoing and the Korean suppliers that have been named for the C-390 program are ASTK, EMK and KENCOA. In of the C-390 Millennium project for South Korea, Embraer is expanding its relationship with Korea Aviation Engineering & Maintenance Service Ltd (KAEMS).

With a payload capacity of 26 tons, a speed of 470 knots and state-of-the-art avionics, the C-390 is the best aircraft in its category. Its powerful engines, large cargo compartment equipped with a rear ramp and robust landing gear allow it to carry out the most demanding missions on unpaved runways. A true strategic asset for its end s, the C-390 Millennium can perform a wide range of military and civilian missions, such as cargo, personnel and vehicle transportation, peacekeeping operations, special operations, humanitarian , medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, aerial refueling and disaster management.
The current fleet of aircraft in operation has accumulated more than 14.000 flight hours, operational availability of 93% and mission completion rates above 99%, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category. Along with South Korea, the C-390 has been selected by the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal and Brazil.
Embraer’s participation in KADEX reflects its growing presence in South Korea. Korean companies are already part of Embraer’s supply chain for the E-Jets E2 family of commercial aircraft, and the relationship between Embraer and the South Korean aerospace and defense industry will be further strengthened with the C-390 program for the ROKAF.
A Praetor 600, equipped to perform a wide range of flight inspection missions, has been operated by the Korea Flight Inspection Service Center since late 2023. The state-of-the-art Praetor 600 is equipped with Aerodata’s state-of-the-art AeroFIS® flight inspection system and fully meets the organization’s demanding requirements.
Embraer celebrated its 55th anniversary in August of this year. The company has produced and delivered more than 9.000 aircraft to over 100 countries and has 800 patents in force. With an order backlog at its highest level in seven years, totaling US$21 billion in the second quarter, the company is projected to end 2024 with revenues between US$6,0 billion and US$6,4 billion.
