Embraer received this month the von Karman Award for International Cooperation in Aeronautics from the International Council of Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS). The ceremony was held during the 34th ICAS Congress in Florence, Italy, which took place between September 9 and 13.
The award, created in 1980, aims to recognize exceptional technical achievements, scientific or technological advancement, or benefits to society through international cooperation in the aeronautical environment. This year's award highlighted Embraer's technological development in the area of “Aeroelastic Tailoring”, in a notable cooperation effort with renowned research centers from several countries.

The project addressed key challenges in composite material structures and the validation of methods for the design of future more efficient, lighter and low-emission aircraft. Embraer’s engineering team was represented by project leader Pedro Higino de os Cabral.
“It was an honor to participate in this event and witness our team and partners being recognized by the Aeroelastic Tailoring Cooperation program. This initiative brought together our talented team and the global scientific community to create innovative theories, computational methods and experimental procedures aimed at advancing sustainable aviation,” said Cleiton Silva, Embraer’s Chief Technology and Advanced Projects Officer. “Congratulations to everyone for this exceptional achievement!”
