Refurbishment of Emirates' Boeing 777 aircraft began in early July, with the reconfiguration of the aircraft to include the new Economy cabin, which offers 24 seats arranged across three rows in a 2-4-2 layout. Cream leather seats, accented by wood ing throughout the cabin, offer increased comfort with a seat pitch of 96,52 cm, 49,53 cm wide and a recline of 20,32 cm. offering more space for the customer to stretch out and relax, in addition to the 6-position adjustable headrest.

The new Business Class on Emirates' 777 aircraft is a warm and inviting cabin that features smart details with greater privacy for customers. The seating and cabin color palette have been enhanced to reflect the bright and light design elements of the experience on Emirates' iconic A380 aircraft, with plush cream-colored leather seats enhanced by champagne-colored trim, plus richer wood ing. clarity and modern technology details that ensure convenience and luxury.

With 38 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, each 52,57 cm wide ergonomic seat can be converted into a spacious flat bed with recline of up to 199,64 cm. The seat also features a padded headrest for added comfort. Cabin seating is arranged in rows of four, offering direct aisle access to all customers. Each seat has a personal minibar, table for dining or work, multiple outlets for charging devices and much more. Emirates will refurbish another 80 Boeing 777 aircraft as part of its investment of more than US$3 billion to provide best-in-class products that elevate customers' experience in the skies. In addition to Geneva, the airline will send its refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft with new cabins to Tokyo Haneda and Brussels in the coming weeks, as well as other destinations that will be announced soon.

The Boeing 777 aircraft refurbishment work was designed, developed and executed in-house by a dedicated team of 175 engineers and technicians from Emirates Engineering in Dubai, based on the highest quality and safety standards. The project's significant impact on the local aviation ecosystem is evident as more than 10 key partners have hired hundreds of skilled workers and set up workshops on and off Emirates Engineering premises to various aspects of the refurbishment programme.

The first Boeing 777 aircraft took 37 days and 18 man-hours to complete, with crews working 24 hours a day in a chronological sequence of work, from removing old interiors to reinstalling and testing new seats and more. cabin components.

 

To deliver the first refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft, the airline used a total of:

  • 330 square meters of carpet;
  • 340 laminate sheets;
  • More than 740 square meters of leather for First Class, Business Class and Economy Class seats;
  • 800 meters of fabric for Economy Class seats;
  • 300 liters of paint.

Emirates is to completely overhaul 191 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft as part of the industry's largest modernization program in scale and size. When the project is complete, the airline will have installed 8.104 state-of-the-art Economy seats, 1.894 renovated First Class suites, 11.182 upgraded Business Class seats and 21.814 Economy Class seats.
