Combining their expertise, Eve and UI Helicopter will work together to present the technical, operational and ecosystem requirements needed to enable eVTOL operations to the South Korean government and industry.

“Advanced air mobility (AAM) has the power to transform the way we move around the world, especially in dense urban areas where this solution is most needed,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve. “We are proud to share Eve’s technical capabilities and ecosystem evolutions with UI Helicopter to create a robust infrastructure for AAM.”

“South Korea has been a pioneer in preparing for urban air mobility, but establishing a sustainable infrastructure for the growth of this sector is the next critical step,” said Sungwieh Albert Rim, CEO of UI Helicopter. “With the right technical partner and our long-standing relationship with South Korean policymakers, we look forward to exploring AAM use cases that will bring the greatest benefits to the country.”

The first step in this collaboration will be to apply a UAM market research study developed by Eve, which will provide initial insights to the process. The South Korean government has already taken significant steps to advance this field through initiatives such as the K-UAM Grand Challenge. Beyond Seoul, there is huge potential for AAM in rural areas of South Korea, where these solutions can improve connectivity and stimulate local economies.

In synergy with Eve’s technical expertise, UI Helicopter will leverage its local expertise to ensure efficient collaboration and open dialogue with policy leaders. Together, the companies aim to develop an AAM ecosystem that integrates technical best practices and meets South Korea’s specific regulatory standards.
