Royal Norwegian Air Force F-35A fighter jets were refueled for the first time by a French Air Force C-135 tanker belonging to Air Refueling Squadron (ERV) 4/31 “Sologne” at Istres Air Base 125.
Norwegian stealth fighter jets are in air patrol mission in Iceland, under the coordination of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).

“This mission highlights the importance of operational cooperation between the two countries allowing, on the one hand, the maintenance of the qualification of the crew and, on the other, the reinforcement of the interoperability capacity”, said the French air force.
The C-135 plane has two refueling options, one with the boom, and another with an adaptation for the Revo basket, this second option is used in French fighters, since they have a probe in the front part of the cockpit.
