The Federal Aviation istration (FAA) has proposed five civil penalties totaling $2,9M monthly against Asia Pacific Airlines of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The penalties are as follows:

US$ 2.436.850 for allegedly using unqualified pilots on 163 Boeing 757 flights between December 20, 2022 and February 1, 2023. In this regard, the FAA notified the company on December 16, 2022. According to the FAA, the pilots were not qualified, but the company continued to use them.

US$ 250.000 for allegedly operating Boeing 757 aircraft on 121 flights without authorization from their operational control. The flights took place between December 20, 2022 and February 1, 2023.

US$ 150.000 for allegedly carrying out 30 flights with Boeing 757 aircraft that did not comply with conditions and limitations when certain equipment was out of service.

US$ 64.000 for allegedly failing to document engine monitoring and continually evaluate engine reliability for Boeing 757 aircraft used in Extended-range Twin-engine Operations Performance Standards (ETOPS) between August 20, 2021 and November 22, 2021. And also for failing to carry out the necessary removal of an engine that exceeded the permitted temperatures on a flight on July 21, 2022.

US$ 8.000 for alleged violations of security risk management regulations.
