The First Troop Transport Group (1st GTT) – ZEUS Squadron, carried out between 10 and 16/10, at EMBRAER, in São José dos Campos (SP), practical training in the flight simulator of the KC-390 Millennium, marking an important step towards the operation of the aircraft in the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
This equipment, with cutting-edge technology, provides an immersive experience, allowing crew to improve their skills in varied flight conditions. The simulator, with level D classification, includes operations in normal and emergency conditions, and has more than 350 failure simulations. The optimized design makes maintenance easier and ensures precise training for pilots.

On this first opportunity, only two pilots and a mechanic from the ZEUS Squadron participated in the training. EMBRAER reported that, in addition to Brazil, Portugal and Hungary will be the next to use this simulator, which stands out for allowing the safe execution of maneuvers, emergency procedures and other adverse situations, reducing costs and eliminating risks. In addition to saving on operational expenses, simulator training minimizes risks associated with training on the aircraft itself, as it offers a controlled environment for safe repetitive practice.
The Commander of the ZEUS Squadron, Lieutenant-Colonel Aviator Bruno Américo Pereira, emphasized the importance of this training for flight safety. “The flight simulator for the KC-390 Millennium aircraft is essential in the training of crew , preparing them to deal with a wide variety of normal, abnormal and emergency situations, in addition to contributing to much safer flights”, he said.
