Fortaleza Airport has a record number of international flights in the 1st quarter/2024

Fortaleza airport recorded the most impressive performance in the post-pandemic era in relation to international flights in the first quarter of 2024. In the months of January, February and March, were more than 100 thousand engers, in around 550 international landings and takeoffs in the capital of Ceará. The increase was more than 50% compared to the same period in 2023, which recorded 66.311 engers.

TAP, the airline that operates the direct Fortaleza-Lisbon route, reached the historic milestone transporting 48 thousand engers in this first quarter of 2024, which represents a increase of 30% compared to the same period of the previous year. Of the direct international destinations from Fortaleza, there is currently TAP with a frequency of nine weekly flights to Lisbon, Air with three weekly flights to Paris, Latam with three to Miami and Gol with two to Buenos Aires and one to Miami.

 

Domestic market heated in April

In April, there will be significant growth from Gol in flights from Fortaleza to Brasília, with a 30% increase in offer, reaching 13 weekly flights (3,4 more engers in the month). In the same period, there will be a 25% increase in frequency to Rio de Janeiro, reaching 20 weekly flights (5,5 more engers per month). In addition, Fortaleza airport will also have an increase in Azul frequency on the route to Belo Horizonte, totaling seven weekly departures (1,1 more engers per month), and an increase of three frequencies to the Recife destination, totaling 33 weekly departures (1,8 more engers per month).

The route to Campina Grande, by Latam, will also increase to three weekly departures, as well as four frequencies on the route to Congonhas, totaling 18 weekly flights (4,9 more engers per month) and 10 more frequencies on the route to Guarulhos, reaching 45 weekly flights (16 thousand more engers per month).

 

Forecast for April/2024

Fortaleza Airport expects to receive 441.366 engers in April/2024. This represents 3.119 domestic and international flights, which will serve 22 national destinations: Aracati, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Campina Grande, Campinas, Fernando de Noronha, Guarulhos, Iguatu, Jericoacoara, Juazeiro do Norte, Manaus, Mossoró, Natal, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, São Luís, São Paulo, Sobral, Teresina and Uberlândia and four international destinations: Buenos Aires, Lisbon, Miami and Paris.
