The international areas, including the spaces for customs authorities and the departure and arrival hall, are also back, allowing the landings and takeoffs of international flights.

The first international flight will land at Porto Alegre Airport in the early hours of December 19. Operated by Copa Airlines, the flight from Panama City (PTY) is scheduled to arrive at 00:20. The flight, leaving the capital of Rio Grande do Sul directly to PTY, is scheduled for 01:25 on the same date. Copa will operate four weekly flights from this date onwards.

On January 2, flights from Porto Alegre to Lima, Peru, and on January 3, flights to Santiago, Chile, will resume. Both Latam Airlines flights will have three weekly frequencies. Aerolíneas Argentinas and Sky Airlines will resume operations in March and June, respectively. Portugal's TAP has also confirmed the return of the route from the capital of Rio Grande do Sul to Lisbon, with the date of resumption of operations to be announced in the coming days.

With the full resumption of operations, Porto Alegre also gains two new domestic destinations: Recife and Salvador. Fraport projects that, in January, the terminal will have, on average, 124 movements per day.
