GOL and Aerolíneas Argentinas updated on Monday (5/2), in Buenos Aires, the codeshare agreement between the two companies with the inclusion of the Brazilian company's new route between Ezeiza (EZE) and Bogotá (BOG), in Colombia, which will be operated from next April, and the Aerolineas route between Aeroparque (AEP) and the Colombian capital.
Celso Ferrer, CEO of GOL, and Fabián Lombardo, CEO of Aerolíneas, signed the agreement that will allow customers of the Argentine company to connect, via Ezeiza, to GOL's new flight to the Colombian capital. To the same extent, GOL Customers will also have the opportunity to travel with Aerolíneas to Colombia on flights from the Argentine company that depart from Aeroparque (AEP) in Buenos Aires to Bogotá.
The agreement will still be submitted for approval by Argentine local authorities and, once approved, ticket sales with shared code will begin.
Aerolíneas Argentinas and GOL Linhas Aéreas began their partnership in 2007, in an interline agreement and since 2014 they have had an extensive codeshare agreement that in these more than 15 years has transported more than 1 million customers. Today, Aerolíneas Customers have access to 75 markets operated by GOL, which in return can sell tickets to 62 markets served by the Argentine company.
The partnership between GOL and Aerolíneas Argentinas contributes significantly to the development of the airline sector between Brazil and Argentina. Together, the two companies have a network of almost 140 routes between the two countries, and innovated in 2022 by launching an air bridge between São Paulo and Buenos Aires that currently has six daily flights (two from GOL and four from Aerolíneas).
Bogotá, in addition to being the capital of one of the richest countries on the continent, is also the gateway to other Colombian cities operated by avianca, a strategic partner of GOL and Aerolíneas. Customers who disembark at El Dorado airport will have easy connections to important economic centers in the country, such as Cali (CLO) and Medellín (MDE), as well as locations known for tourist attractions of natural beauty, such as Cartagena (CTG) and San Andrés (ADZ ).
