The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) approved the Amendment to the Guarulhos International Airport Concession Agreement, which enables new investments in the airport complex by the GRU Concessionaire Airport. With this decision, Guarulhos airport infrastructure will be expanded and modernized, enabling greater quality of services provided to s.
In a deliberative meeting held on Wednesday, November 27, the Agency's Board of Directors ratified the of the contractual renegotiation carried out within the scope of the Secretariat for External Control of Consensual Resolution and Conflict Prevention (SecexConsenso), of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), which will extend the final term of the concession to November 23, 2033.
According to the decision agreed upon by the TCU, the concessionaire must invest R$400 million to immediately restore the level of service provided by the airport. Since these investments were part of the original obligations of the concession contract, the amount related to these works will not be subject to economic and financial rebalancing by the granting authority, and must be paid solely by the concessionaire.
In addition to these, other investments, in the order of R$1 billion, will be made to ensure the infrastructure is compatible with the increased demand for engers and aircraft, as well as investments that will further increase the airport's security level. In order to fulfill this part of the contract, as a way of economic and financial rebalancing, the concession term will be extended.
