Iberia has increased flights between São Paulo and Madrid since April, when it went from one daily flight to operating 10 weekly frequencies. In June, July and August, it will increase to 11 weekly frequencies. And it goes further, with a new increase for the end of October, with up to two daily flights (14 weekly frequencies) available.

It is also worth highlighting that the new frequency in São Paulo will operate with the largest and most advanced aircraft in the fleet, the Airbus A350, with a capacity for 348 engers, a three-cabin configuration (Business, Economy and Economy) and a reduction of 35 % in fuel consumption.

With this movement, Brazil will have around 2024 seats connecting the country to Europe by 470.000, 51% more than in 2023 and 12% more than pre-pandemic levels.

Iberia will also reinforce its commitment to the other route it operates between Brazil and Spain: Rio de Janeiro. In this sense, from next June it will have four to six weekly frequencies, which will mean a daily flight every day, except Saturdays.

This flight will continue to operate with the A330-200, with capacity for 288 engers, with Business and Economy cabin configuration. In total, capacity in 2024 for this route will exceed 130.000 seats.

This new option, together with a better offer of schedules, will provide Brazilians with a wider connection capacity to other destinations on the Iberia network, which has 45 destinations in Spain, 59 in Europe, two in the Middle East , eight in Africa and one in Asia.

Likewise, the increase in flights between Brazil and Spain will make it possible to make better use of the new destinations on the Iberia network, such as the direct route between Madrid and Tokyo, which the airline will debut in October, as well as Doha, Cairo, Tirana, Ljubljana, Tromso or Salzburg, which will expand Brazilians’ travel possibilities to the rest of the world.
