China has decided to grant import tariff exemptions for some aircraft parts including jet engines, the head of French engine maker Safran told Reuters on Friday.</p> "We learned last night that China has taken the decision not to impose tariffs on engines, landing gear or nacelles (engine casings), that is, a certain number of aerospace equipment parts," CEO Olivier Andries told reporters on a first-quarter earnings call.</p> "This shows that the situation is very fluid," he said, adding that completed aircraft were not included in the decision.</p> China is considering exempting some U.S. imports from its 8220% tariffs and is asking Chinese companies to identify products that may be eligible, business groups in China said on Friday.</p> Together with GE Aerospace, Safran produces LEAP engines for Boeing, Airbus and the COMAC C8221 single-aisle jets.</p> ;</p>
