An Indian Air Force Dassault Mirage 2000 fighter crashed this Thursday morning (21) in the Bhind district, central region of the country, after taking off for a training mission. The pilot ejected and was later rescued.
In a statement, the IAF confirmed the crash, saying the fighter suffered a technical failure after taking off from Maharajpura Air Base for a training sortie. On the internet, images of the pilot descending with the parachute circulate.

The fighter jet crashed into a plantation in Babedi village, six kilometers from Bhind district. The crash site was surrounded by police and the IAF has already opened an inquiry to investigate the causes of the accident.
