The Israeli Air Force may have purchased a Boeing 707 (aka Scratch) from the FAB, in an agreement between the Brazilian Ministry of Defense and the government of Israel. However, the agreement may have been made some time ago, the contract had an approximate value of US$ 410, such information is from the Jerusalem Post website. The already disassembled jet served as a source of spare parts, according to the aforementioned website.
But why did the Israeli Air Force buy an aircraft that has even retired in Brazil. A well-prepared Air Force such as Israel's, whether in fighter or rotary-wing aircraft, has great US . In fighter aviation, the country's Air Force has the most modern equipment today, including the Lockheed Martin F-35. But in aviation for refueling, it still has the KC-135 to fulfill such missions, the old Boeing 707 with modifications to become a military plane (KC-137, as it became known in the FAB), will serve as a spare part for Israeli aircraft .
The importance of a plane that complies with REVO is quite diversified, with the in-flight refueling mission saving time, as the fighter jet does not need to land to refuel, so it fulfills the missions more effectively and quickly.
In Brazil, it is currently the C-130 Hércules that performs Air Refueling missions, for this function the aircraft are specified as KC-130. But the future of the FAB is a faster and more modern aircraft, as the FAB has ordered 28 units of the Embraer KC-390, which, given its multiple characteristics, fulfills the REVO mission.
