Japan Airlines' first B777-300ER retired after 19 years of service

Japan Airlines has begun retiring its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, with the first aircraft set to be retired on September 19, 2024. Officials at Haneda Airport paid tribute to the aircraft, which was delivered in 2005 and ed JA734J (changed to N3243P after retirement). It was the fourth aircraft of this type to be added to the airline's fleet. After more than 19 years in service, Japan Airlines</em>'s aircraft made its last commercial flight between Sydney and Tokyo Haneda on August 20, 2024. The airline had 13 B777-300ERs, which will gradually be replaced by new Airbus</em> A350-1000s.</p> The first of these new aircraft, equipped with modern interiors and luxurious first class suites, was delivered in December 2023.
