According to KLM's CEO, Maarten Koopmans, the decision to withdraw some aircraft from operation aims to maintain operational safety, with the expectation of normalizing the situation only in 2026.

The Embraer E-195 E2 came to the KLM Cityhopper precisely to replace the first-generation E190, a model that is due to be retired by 2029, with the withdrawal of five to six aircraft per year, as reported by Aero Telegraph.

The subsidiary KLM Cityhopper currently has a fleet of 18 units, however, there is the possibility of an additional order for 25 more jets.
