LATAM has just announced the new Recife-Petrolina route, which will reinforce air connectivity within the state of Pernambuco. The route is scheduled to begin operations in 2025, with three flights per week, and complements a series of recent investment announcements by the company in its air operations in the state, reinforcing its commitment to increasingly democratizing aviation.
The new route, which is designed to the development of the Pernambuco hinterland, should also transport tons of cargo from the region to the capital, mainly fruit, which can be exported to other countries via connections on LATAM's air network.
The viability of the Recife-Petrolina route is the result of the expansion plan that has been discussed with the Government of Pernambuco since September last year and is the result of the policy of encouraging tourism and economic development and has the of the Ministry of Ports and Airports.

The t effort enabled LATAM to open this new route, further connecting the state with the world and increasing the flow of international tourists, via connections in Recife, with LATAM flights,” said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Brazil.
Details of the operation, as well as the start of ticket sales, will be announced in the coming months.
THE GROWTH OF LATAM IN PERNAMBUCO
The new Recife-Petrolina route is part of a sequence of investments by LATAM in Pernambuco, such as the international Recife-Santiago route, inaugurated in December 2024, the new São Paulo/Guarulhos-Fernando de Noronha route, whose operation will begin in May, in addition to the temporary operation on the Recife-Fernando de Noronha route, carried out since March 14.
In its current regular operations, LATAM operates around 100 flights per week in Recife, on routes to Brasilia, Fortaleza, Sao Paulo/Congonhas, Sao Paulo/Guarulhos and Rio de Janeiro/Galeao. In Petrolina, the company flies to Sao Paulo/Guarulhos, with 14 flights per week.
