WHAT IS CABIN CREW TRAINING LATAM LIKE?
LATAM offers comprehensive training for all its cabin crew who work on domestic flights in Brazil and international short and long-haul flights. Initial training, for new hires, lasts approximately 234 hours and the activities are applied and conducted specifically according to the aircraft model that the crew member will fly and its configurations.
The training is both online and practical, and includes simulation of activities such as landing on water or in forests/woods; operation of aircraft doors and emergency exits; handling of galleys (the aircraft's kitchen); emergency evacuations; first aid; activities with smoke and enger rescue techniques in these situations; in addition to classes on on-board service and customer service.
WHAT IS PILOT TRAINING LATAM LIKE?
The training of technical crew who have just ed LATAM lasts an average of 3 to 4 months and is divided into 3 phases:
Ground Training: The first stage, in which new pilots study aircraft systems, technical and organizational topics, and aeronautical legislation and regulations. Today, much of this training is online, while practical training is carried out in person at the LATAM Corporate Academy.
Flight simulator: After completing the ground training phase, they move on to simulator training, carried out in pairs with a qualified instructor, in certified training centers. In this phase, they are prepared to deal with normal and abnormal scenarios. The training ends with an evaluation session by an examiner accredited by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), who confirms the pilots' fitness to proceed to the final training phase.
En Route Instruction: This is the final phase of adaptation to LATAM flights, in which pilots, accompanied by an instructor captain, learn about the company's routine and become familiar with its airports and operating locations. This is the last step to qualify them as co-pilots or captains. Although they are already prepared from the simulator training phase, they must a final assessment in route to fly regularly without the presence of an instructor.
After initial training, all LATAM pilots undergo annual training and revalidation exams.
