This is the second opening of vacancies for pilots by LATAM in Brazil in 2025. In January, the company had already announced almost 900 opportunities for flight attendants and co-pilots.

"Today, LATAM offers the best career opportunities for pilots in civil aviation in the country, thanks to the group's solidity and scope, which allows development in both the domestic and international markets. We are also the longest-running airline in the national aviation sector, which reflects our consistency and our responsibility towards the future of Brazilian aviation."Says Harley Meneses, Director of Operations at LATAM Brazil.

Requirements for co-pilots include: completed higher education, Commercial Pilot License, IFRA and MLTE or Type ratings, PLA CCT, and at least 150 total hours of flight experience in an airplane. For captains, a minimum of 5.000 hours of flight experience on scheduled airlines is required, including at least 3.000 hours in jet aircraft and 500 hours in command of aircraft similar to or larger than the Airbus A320.

WHAT IS PILOT TRAINING LATAM LIKE?

The training process for new LATAM pilots lasts, on average, 3 to 4 months and is divided into three main stages:

Ground Training: In the first phase, pilots study aircraft systems, technical aspects, organizational procedures, and current aeronautical legislation and regulations. Much of this content is taught online, while practical activities take place in person at the LATAM Corporate Academy.

Flight simulator: After completing ground training, pilots advance to the practical phase in flight simulators, always in pairs with a qualified instructor, in certified training centers. This stage prepares pilots to face normal and emergency situations. The training concludes with a rigorous assessment conducted by an examiner accredited by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), who confirms the suitability to advance to the last phase.

En Route Instruction: final stage of training, when pilots, accompanied by experienced instructor commanders, adapt to LATAM's operational routine, familiarizing themselves with local airports and procedures. Although already qualified from the simulator phase, they must a final in-flight assessment to be qualified to act as co-pilots or commanders without supervision.

After this initial stage, all LATAM pilots participate in annual training and revalidation exams to ensure constant updating and safety in operations.
