Increasingly closer to being part of the LATAM Brasil fleet, the company's first Airbus A321neo (PS-LBB) carried out its first test flight today (13), a stage that precedes the delivery of the aircraft to the airline. The aircraft will be the first for the Brazilian branch, as well as for the LATAM Group.
Still with the test registration number D-AVXP, the future PS-LBB (MSN 11531) took off from the Airbus factory in Hamburg, , at around 10 am (Brasília time). The flyover lasted 2 hours 37 minutes and served to evaluate the performance of the aircraft and the plane's main systems. It is very likely that D-AVXP will carry out two more test trials, with a high chance that LATAM Brasil's first A321neo will be delivered in October this year.

Recently, the PS-LBB was spotted with the engines installed and carrying out the first taxiing, brake application and aborted takeoff (RTO) tests. Check out part of the tests in the video below:

LATAM Brasil has an order for 12 A321neo, it is not yet known what seating configuration will be adopted by the airline, as the company's A321 ceo are configured with 224 seats in a single class. By the first half of 2024, LATAM will be able to have 4 units. LATAM's Airbus A321neo They will also operate the Pratt & Whitney PW1133G engines, a manufacturer that the company also uses to equip its A320neo.
The A321neo is the largest member of the Airbus A320neo Family, which incorporates new generation engines and sharklets, delivering more than 20 percent fuel and CO₂ savings, as well as 50 percent noise reduction.
Last year, Roberto Alvo, LATAM's CEO (CEO), announced that the first units of the A321neo would arrive in 2023 between the branches in Chile and Brazil. In addition, the A321XLR, version with intercontinental range, is estimated to arrive in the LATAM group in 2025.
