LATAM Airlines Brasil was recognized by the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPOR) as the most punctual airline in the country in 2024. The award was presented on Tuesday night (27/5), in Brasília (DF), during the 10th edition of the Aviação + Brasil Award. At the ceremony, the company was represented by Samuel Di Pietro, director of LATAM's Operations Control Center in Brazil; Tatiane Viana, Regulatory Affairs Manager at LATAM Brasil; and Danilo Gomes, OTP Coordinator at LATAM Brasil.
The Aviação + Brasil Award takes into the results of the enger Satisfaction Survey, promoted by the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC), and the percentage of flights that took off and landed up to 15 minutes after the scheduled time.
“Punctuality is a fundamental value for us. That is why we seek operational excellence through strategic and coordinated work between various areas of the company. In 2024, we will transport more than 35 million engers and 144 thousand tons of cargo to more than 50 airports in Brazil, always with the commitment to respect the customer's time”, highlighted Samuel.
5 LATAM ACTIONS IN SEARCH OF PUNCTUALITY
LATAM's punctuality performance is the result of five coordinated fronts of action:
- Air network planning
Punctuality starts with a well-planned flight network for engers, baggage and cargo, with efficient schedules, adequate time for aircraft on the ground and flexibility for unforeseen events, such as weather changes.
- Fleet modernization
Over the past two years, LATAM has received almost 30 new aircraft in Brazil. More modern and sustainable, they consume less fuel, emit fewer pollutants and reduce the average age of the company's fleet.
- Crew roster
Pilot and flight attendant schedules are planned to ensure agility and coverage of the operation, even in the face of adversities such as bad weather or blocked access to airports.
- Ground efficiency
Nighttime maintenance has been optimized at Brasília, Congonhas and Guarulhos airports. With the reinforcement of technical teams and the use of predictive technology, the time aircraft are out of operation has been significantly reduced.
- Digital transformation
LATAM invests in technology to facilitate the customer journey, with solutions such as automatic check-in, digital wallet (LATAM Wallet), customer service via WhatsApp, simplified refunds and express baggage check-in. The company is currently considering adopting biometrics for even faster boarding.
