Seven people died and 13 were injured in the crash of a LET L-410 turboprop in the Kemerovo region, in southwest Siberia, this Saturday morning (19). According to the TASS, the twin-engine belongs to the Voluntary Society of Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy of Russia and was being operated in the release of paratroopers.
Preliminary information points out that the plane had a failure in the number 2 engine shortly after taking off from Tanai Airfield. According to Siberian Aviation Search and Rescue Center, 20 people were on the aircraft. Among the dead are the two pilots and five engers.
A spokesman for a Siberian branch of the Russian Civil Aviation Agency, Rosaviatsia, told Reuters that a search and rescue operation was underway, without providing further details.

This is the second fatal accident with the model this week. Last Wednesday (16), the crash of an L-410 left three dead in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As in today's accident, the aircraft crashed shortly after taking off. The registration plane 9S-GRJ was operated by Kin Avia, had two crew and one enger and was carrying 1.6 tons. of iron roofs from Bukavu to Shabunda.
