With the ceremony this Monday morning (14th), at the State Government Hangar at Santa Maria Airport, in Campo Grande, Governor Reinaldo Azambuja authorized the purchase of new vehicles and aircraft, as well as equipment and materials, with the objective of strengthening the fight against forest fires. The financial contribution also provides for the construction of a center for the 3rd Group in Corumbá.
During the event, the governor signed a term of loan of the aircraft “Air Tractor AT-802F, from Imasul (Environmental Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul) for the Fire Department to use in firefighting, in addition to authorize the acquisition of another aircraft of the same model. They are specific to perform this function and have the capacity to transport up to 3 liters of water.
With regard to the new vehicles, 25 self-rescue vehicles will be delivered, which are pickup trucks for transporting forest fire fighting teams, as well as another fuel self-transport vehicle, which is a truck that will take kerosene by plane. , with a capacity of 6 liters.
For the new vessels, there are 5 speedboats for transporting troops to fire sites, which aim to increase the effectiveness of operations, and two more multifunctional boats, each with the capacity to take 16 seated military firefighters, in addition to the crew, to missions in the region. from the Pantanal.
