Mexicana de Aviación, Mexico's state-owned airline, placed an order for 20 Embraer E2 jets. The agreement includes 10 E190-E2 jets as well as 10 E195-E2 jets with deliveries scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. The airline will configure the E190-E2 with 108 seats and the E195-E2 with 132 – both in a single class.
Mexicana will be the first operator of the E2 jets in Mexico and will benefit from the low operating costs and fuel efficiency of these aircraft, reinforcing the airline's and Embraer's commitment to sustainability and promoting more efficient aviation.
With this strategic decision, Mexicana will grow and modernize its fleet, strengthening domestic and international connectivity to offer accessible and comfortable travel to its customers, with the highest standards of safety and service.
“We welcome Mexicana, which will be the first operator of the E2 family in Mexico. The airline stands out for the success and rapid growth it has achieved since the restart of its operations in December 2023. Mexicana is already flying to 18 destinations, transporting more than 115 thousand engers and accumulating more than 3.280 flight hours in this short period . Thus, the airline reinforces its commitment to operational excellence and customer service”, says Priscilla Doro Solymossy, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Embraer Commercial Aviation for Latin America and the Caribbean.
