Citizens with scheduled international trips will be able to complete the vaccination schedule in a shorter period of time. Last Friday (22), the Ministry of Health authorized the reduction of the interval between doses of Covid-19 vaccines for those travelers who need to go abroad, through proof of travel.

The determination is in a technical note (click here) published by the Extraordinary Secretariat for Combating Covid-19 (SeCovid). Pasta's recommendation is that the minimum interval of 21 days be respected for the Pfizer/Wyeth vaccine and 28 days for the AstraZeneca/Fiocruz vaccine.

In addition to reducing the range of immunizers, the ministry also allowed travelers vaccinated with the two doses of Coronavac with tickets to countries that do not have authorization for this immunizer, to be able to receive a third dose of another immunizer accepted by the country of destination. In this case, the minimum interval between the primary vaccination series and the third dose of the other immunizer will be 28 days.

Implementation

Federation units and municipalities should assess situations individually with a view to finding the best vaccination schedule, according to the availability of vaccines. The measures must also ensure the protection and safety of the population. The methods for proving the nature of the trip will be at the discretion of the federal entities.
