The Federal Police launched, this morning (04/12), Operation Low Flight, to dismantle an international criminal organization specialized in drug trafficking, in São Paulo. The group was led by a businessman, who promoted the purchase and distribution of Bolivian cocaine.
13 temporary arrest warrants and 33 search and seizure warrants are being served. The 46 court orders were fulfilled in the cities Araçatuba/SP (4), Campinas/SP (2), Dourado/SP (1), Guararapes/SP (1), Jaú/SP (1), Pereira Barreto/SP (3) , Ribeirão Preto/SP (1), São José do Rio Preto/SP (8), São Paulo/SP (1), Vargem Grande Paulista/SP (1), Cassilândia/MS (2), Alcinópolis (1), Coxim /MS (3) and Três Lagoas/MS (2), Presidente Getúlio/SC (1) and Eunápolis/BA (1), in 4 different states (SP, MS, BA and SC). In addition to the court orders, 15 aircraft were seized, as well as the seizure of properties, including 03 farms.
The criminal group was commanded by an alleged businessman from the interior of São Paulo, who coordinated the purchase and air transport of drugs from Bolivian traffickers. He received the cocaine in Mato Grosso do Sul and transported it by plane to the State of São Paulo.
Initiated in May 2018, the federal police action resulted in seizures totaling approximately 2.6 tons of cocaine and the arrest of another 11 people.
Those investigated will be indicted for the practice of drug trafficking crimes (article 33, paragraph 1, item I, of Law 11.343/06) and association for drug trafficking (article 35 of the same law), with sentences of 05 to 15 years and fine and 03 to 10 years and fine, respectively.
