The accident occurred around 15:30 pm. However, due to the difficult access to the site, the firefighters arrived at the scene for the rescue only at 16:25.

The Minas Gerais Fire Department released a note, stating that all occupants of the aircraft died after the accident, read the note in full:

The Military Fire Department of Minas Gerais informs that this Friday (5), a small aircraft, model Beech Aircraft, crashed in the rural area of ​​Piedade de Caratinga. CBMMG confirms that the aircraft was carrying singer Marília Mendonça and that she is among the fatalities.

“With immense regret, we confirm the death of the singer Marília Mendonça, her producer Henrique Ribeiro, her uncle and advisor Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, the pilot and copilot of the plane, whose names we will preserve at this time. The plane took off from Goiânia to Caratinga (MG), where Marília would have a presentation tonight”, I told singer's advisory in an official note.

the aircraft registration number PT-ONJ was being operated by PEC Táxi Aéreo, which is authorized for this type of service by ANAC. The causes of the accident will be investigated later by CENIPA.

In a note, ANAC said:

“The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) sympathizes with the families of the victims of the plane crash in the Caratinga mountains, in the interior of Minas Gerais, this Friday (5/11).

The aircraft registration PT-ONJ, model C90A, was owned and operated by the company Pec Taxi Aereo Ltda and had the capacity to transport six engers, in addition to the pilots.

According to the Brazilian Aeronautical Registry (RAB), the plane had the Airworthiness Verification Certificate (CVA) valid until 01/07/2022. The company had authorization to operate air taxis.”

In a note, the air taxi company said: “PEC Táxi Aéreo, the company that operated the aircraft that transported singer Marília Mendonça and her team this Friday (5/11), regrets the accident that ended with the death of the artist and four other people – producer Henrique Ribeiro, her uncle Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, pilot Geraldo Martins de Medeiros, and co-pilot Luiz Eduardo David Guimarães.”
