Qantas has just launched the international route between Darwin (DRW) and Singapore-Changi Airport (SIN). The new flight will be operated five times a week, becoming daily from March.
The international flight lasting 2.075 miles (3.340 km) and lasting 4 hours and 50 minutes will be operated by the Embraer E190 E1, an aircraft operated by Qantas Link. The route returned after being discontinued in 2006 and will have Singapore Airlines as its main competitor on the same service, which uses the Boeing 737 MAX, according to reported by One Mile at a Time.

The use of an Embraer on a route considered long is noteworthy, especially in a market that is accustomed to the use of larger aircraft.

"We are excited to offer our customers a new international route from Darwin and to strengthen the important commercial, business and tourism links between Australia and Singapore,” said Cam Wallace, CEO of Qantas International.
Qantas Link's Embraer E190 E1 can carry up to 94 engers, 10 in business class (1-2 configuration), with another 84 seats in economy class (2-2).
Dawin Airport is a Qantas Link base with Embraer E190 E1 aircraft, the new route will provide connections to the UK, Europe and South East Asia with other airlines in the Oneworld alliance.
