RAF Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, for the second time this year, have carried out airstrikes against Daesh targets in Iraq using Paveway IV precision-guided bombs.
The airstrikes took place on Thursday 11 February, when two RAF Typhoon FGR4s were tasked with carrying out the strikes against terrorists who had been identified occupying two scattered camps on the banks of the Tharthar River, west of the town of Bayji.
The attacks were carried out after a survey of the area, which revealed no signs of civilians who could be at risk. This allowed the Typhoon pilots to release their Paveway IV guided bombs hitting targets.

Further surveillance of both sites confirmed that a number of different targets within the camps had been hit and that the mission had been a success.
