RAF (Royal Air Force) Eurofighter Typhoons intercepted two Russian Tu-142 maritime reconnaissance planes. The onslaught of English fighters took place on September 12, over the Scottish coast.
The Typhoon fighters were triggered by the warning system at RAF Leuchars Air Base Station.

"The QRA is versatile and today's case demonstrates that a Voyager and Typhoons can be launched from a number of different locations with very little notice to intercept any potential airborne target," said an RAF statement published by DefPost website.
The RAF statement still says the interception took place “in strict compliance with the rules of international airspace”.
However, interceptions by the Russians also happen, in recent days there have been many interceptions of Russian fighters against aircraft US military and the Norway.
