Rising tensions in the Middle East lead airlines to cancel flights

Concerns over the recent intensification of conflict in the Middle East have led international airlines to cancel flights and avoid the area's airspace.

A Air Algerie temporarily suspended flights to and from Lebanon until further notice, as well as the Air India which suspended regular flights from Tel Aviv until August 8.

The suspension of flights between Paris and Beirut by Air was extended until August 11th, as well as the company's Dutch branch, KLM, which canceled all flights to Tel Aviv from the beginning of August until October 26th.

A Delta Airlines extended the suspension of flights between New York and Tel Aviv until August 31, while the EasyJet stopped its routes to Tel Aviv in April and will only resume flights on March 30, 2025, according to information from a spokesperson.

The Italian company ITA Airways extended the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv until August 10. THE Swiss Air Lines, part of the Group Lufthansa, decided to suspend its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut until August 13, avoiding airspace over Israel, Iran and Iraq.

Europe's largest low-cost airline, Ryanair, canceled flights to Tel Aviv until August 23. THE Singapore Airlines has halted the use of Iranian airspace and is operating via alternative routes. The American United Airlines also reported that flights to Tel Aviv, suspended on July 31, remain paralyzed.

The UK government has advised all British airlines not to fly over Lebanese airspace between August 8 and November 4, citing a “potential risk to aviation” due to military activity.
