The Red Wings fleet currently comprises four Airbus A320s, eight Airbus A321s and 16 Irkut MC-21-300s on order. According to the Russian Aviation website, the Moscow-based airline has received its first Sukhoi Superjet 100, with which the company will be able to launch new domestic routes.

The order is for 60 Sukhoi jets, four more being delivered this year, 21 aircraft the following year. The arrival of these aircraft will allow the company to operate in other airports with more flights than Moscow Airport.

The general director of Red Wings highlighted the importance of Sukhoi for the company that will strengthen and expand markets in Russia.

“This will help us to have a more prominent position in the market, to enter the, so to speak, elite league of Russian carriers. It will also help the reputation of the Russian aerospace industry and put us on track to be the launch customer for the Russian-built MC-21 strait.”, said Evgeniy Klyucharev.

In 2019, the airline transported 3,1 million engers, making it the 9th largest company in Russia. With Sukhoi, the company can carry 87 to 98 engers on regional routes where Airbus cannot operate.
