With video: Russian fighter jets intercept USAF B-1B Lancer bombers over the Black Sea

Russian SU-27P and SU-30SM fighters were deployed to intercept USAF B-1B Lancer strategic and supersonic bombers. The interception took place yesterday, the 29th, over neutral waters of the Black Sea.

“Su-27P and Su-30SM air defense fighters alert Southern Military District quick reaction forces that have been intercepted to intercept targets,” the Russian defense ministry said.

According to the Russian statement, the fighters arrived at a safe distance from the North American B-1B Lancers and the same "changed course and flew away from Russia's state border." After the interception, the Russian fighters returned to their air bases. 

The USAF B-1B Lancers are on a Task Force mission, the radius of action of the aircraft encomes regions of the European continent, and the Pacific, where the B-1B Lancers bombers are headquartered, more precisely at the USAF air base in Andersen, Guam.

The B-1B Lancers have already made several flights, including overflights in the South China Sea, and flights with fighter jets from Denmark, Norway, Poland, Sweden and England.
