To face the resistance of Ukrainian civilians and military, in recent days Russia is resorting to a tactic of mass destruction of cities.

A minute-long video shows one such attack, carried out near Popasna, a town near Luhansk in eastern Ukraine. At the time, unguided rockets were launched by the helicopters without any type of sight, as we can see from the angle of attack of the aircraft.

KA-52 and Mi-28N Havoc helicopters also appear in the images making the same type of attack, launching rockets without precision. see on video below:

It is noteworthy that the two Russian helicopters have already been ed in this war with Ukraine using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), such as the Vikhr-1 missile, as well as unguided rockets, but with minimal precision work on the part of the crew.

At the same time, in this first video, we can also observe the use of flares, to avoid attacks from anti-aircraft systems, such as MANPADS. In recent weeks several Russian Ka-52 units have been destroyed by Ukrainian forces.

The video below shows some of these weapons being used in KA-52 helicopters:

This attack demonstrates that on some occasions the Russian Armed Forces are carrying out attacks only to cause damage, without any precision to hit military targets. The helicopter's angle of attack puts the rocket on an increased parabolic trajectory, extending the weapon's range but decreasing accuracy.

In some training sessions, soldiers usually discard their weapons before returning to the base, however, this procedure is performed in an uninhabited environment, unlike the video above. The most likely in this case is the use of a missile dispersion tactic, known as MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) launchers.

The tactic of mass destruction of cities is being applied this week by Russian forces in Ukraine, as a way of trying to destabilize Ukrainian civilians, as in Mariupol where we can see the traces of the attacks in the video below.
