Ukraine's MANPADS system is ensuring a fair amount of Russian plane kills, including a well-filmed ground-to-air attack of a Russian Mi-35 attack helicopter being shot down. Click Here and watch the video.
Some sources, such as one found by the site The Times, point out that Ukraine is already using the MANPADS Starstreak system, recently supplied by the United Kingdom, and that this was used in the attack on the Mi-28. It is also not possible to identify whether Ukraine used a Javelin system in this attack.
We call MANPADS the portable systems with surface-to-air missiles, often launched from the shoulder of a military man. These are heat or frequency guided weapons to the desired target.
