SITA, a technology company for the air transport sector, has been selected by the Amazon Airport Concessionaire, which operates seven airports as part of the VINCI Airports Network, to implement the SITA Airport Management solution at the airports of Manaus; Porto Velho Airport; Rio Branco Airport; Boa Vista Airport; Cruzeiro do Sul Airport; Tabatinga Airport; and Tefé Airport. In addition, the airport group has renewed an ongoing agreement with SITA to continue providing the same service at Salvador Bahia Airport. The systems will be available to engers from the second half of this year.
SITA Airport Management is an airport solution that helps airport managers and airlines manage flight operations more efficiently, optimize fixed and mobile resources – such as check-in counters and baggage carousels – and manage mobile resources, i.e. the personnel working during aircraft takeoff and landing. The tool also facilitates collaborative decision-making and enables a reduction in fuel consumption by reducing the time aircraft engines are running, limiting idle time.
By combining these technologies, the eight airports in the VINCI Airports network in Brazil will be able to consolidate operational data from all airports under their management in the country, monitoring key performance indicators for terminal operations and the business, ensuring compliance with quality of service objectives for engers. In addition, the data can be shared with the entire group network, enabling the external growth of the concessionaire responsible for the airports in the Amazon.
Benefits of multi-airport solutions
SITA’s multi-airport solutions reduce airport operating costs by streamlining and streamlining airport routines, both in the long term and in day-to-day operations. They can also increase airport revenue streams, improve aircraft ground handling performance and increase airline and enger satisfaction. Thanks to improved data availability, quality and timeliness, airports will develop capabilities to resolve unplanned operational issues and avoid inaccuracies in their most critical internal processes, such as invoicing for services to commercial partners.
“We are very pleased to continue and expand our partnership with SITA to use these technologies. This year has been positive in of growth, recovery and consolidation of advances in the post-pandemic scenario. In this new moment, more than ever, the tools offered by this company will be of great use to make decisions that will continue to lead us on a path to success. It will be very rewarding to begin implementing these new tools in the airports we manage in the Brazilian Amazon region,” says Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil.
