After inspecting Salgado Filho airport, in Porto Alegre, Fraport Brasil set a new deadline for the reopening of the terminal.
According to information from Gaúchazh, initial plans point to a possible opening in the second half of December, however, the most precise period will only be released after the inspection of the airport runway, which should be completed in July. Therefore, it will be necessary to find out what actions will be necessary to restore the asphalt on the track.
In addition, Fraport also announced the hiring of a company to clean the entire common area of the airport, as well as cleaning the runway using heavy machinery.
It is estimated that the initial expenses for the revitalization of Salgado Filho will cost around R$45 million. All measures adopted by Fraport aim to safely resume operations.
