Continuing with Phase 2, there are simultaneous works of milling and recomposition of asphalt mass. The intervention in taxilane (the road that connects the aircraft yard and the taxiways) and on taxiway M4 (taxiway (the path that connects the runway with other areas of the airport) is already finished. The milling of the PPD (Landing and Takeoff Runway) and repairs to concrete slabs have also been completed in the section that will come into operation on 21/10. The next step is the application of asphalt mass, which is already underway in this same area.

On August 17, the installation of the automated asphalt plant was completed and is now fully operational for asphalt production. It s the two external plants that provide services to the airport to speed up the process. In parallel with the paving rehabilitation work, work began on cleaning ditches, restoring the beacon system, and restoring components to enable the reinstallation of vertical signage.

At the enger Terminal, the recovery of floor 1 is underway with the grinding and polishing of the granite and the removal and replacement of drywalls. Each check-in area has its own BHS system (Baggage Handling System), responsible for taking baggage from the service counters to the yard. In the international area, the system is energized and undergoing testing. The system in the domestic area, as well as the baggage claim conveyors, were cleaned and lubricated. They are now being reassembled to continue the tests. Other electrical equipment such as elevators, escalators and boarding bridges have already been cleaned and are being reassembled.

The power substations, which supply the entire airport site, are undergoing restoration work. All equipment below 1m was impacted, including low and medium voltage s, transformers, uninterruptible power supplies and cabling. In order to handle the enger processing operations currently taking place at the Terminal, it was necessary to build a new medium voltage network that connects directly to the grid of the energy concessionaire that serves the city of Porto Alegre.
